Take all the advantages of the Polti 2400(if you haven't read the opinions on the 2400 please do so), and then add the suction power of a quality vacuum and you have the Polti 900. For technical details visit - www.polti-ltd.co.uk. I will focus on usability. I was on the verge of buying the 2400, when I found out about this product. As carpet cleaning was high on my requirements list, I was attracted to the 900 by its ability to suck the dirt out of the carpet in water, rather than the 2400's method of collecting dirt on a cloth. With a young child, the ability to suck up liquid spills was also an attractive feature. (NOTE: If giving your carpet an occasional thorough cleaning is your only requirement, consider a VAX. They are cheaper, and easier for carpets.....but the Polti is sooooo much more than a carpet cleaner) Once you have familiarised yourself with the product, it takes about ten minutes to get operational from taking it out of the cupboard. This is important, as extensive set-up time would be a deterrent to regular use. Once operational, running time is about 60 - 90 mins depending on how trigger happy you are with the steam. Then you need to refill the boiler and wait for it to heat up again. In total this takes about 8 mins, and you'll probably be grateful for the opportunity to sit down for a few minutes. If you can't put up with interruption to your work, then you probably want the Polti 910 with continuous run function. We have light oatmeal coloured carpets, and on first use it was really hard work. (Well there was 2.5 years build up of ground-in dirt and dust in there) However, the results were worth the effort and regular maintenance only takes a fraction of the time (20 mins for a 10'X 12' room). The carpet attachment uses a combination of steam and brush bristles to loosen the dirt, as some of the steam turns to water this is sucked up with the dirt. A water based Eco-Filter and separ
ate Hepa filter are employed to ensure none of the dust is recirculated. Hard surfaces are an absolute breeze - Tiles, Kitchen Floor, worktops, cooker, windows. Cleaning is so easy and no chemicals required, whilst killing 97% of dust mites. (Once again, I refer you to the Polti 2400 opinions because they tell you exactly what I would tell you) When you finish, you rinse out the dirty water and rinse the filter - 5 mins tops. Its then ready to use for the next time. This product is an absolute godsend for anyone with young children - a multi-surface cleaner that sanitises using the power of steam and NO CHEMICALS. I feel a whole lot happier knowing that the whole house is a cleaner environment for my child to live in, and keeping it that way now takes a fraction of the time that it used to.
I have borrowed this product from my mother and think it is fantastic, it shall definatley be the next appliance on our list. With this steamer you do not need any detergents, just water, you simply fill it up, wait for the pressure to build up and away you go. I have spent many hours scrubbing as we own a St Bernard (you can imagine the dirt she brings in) But with the polti vaperetto all you need to do is jet the area with steam and simply wipe over with a cloth, Yes its that easy!!!!! It has so many different attatchments for different uses e.g. carpet cleaner, jet nozzel for cookers, tiles etc. an attatchment for cleaning settee's and also an iron!, Yes thats right an iron, all you do with this is hang up your clothes and steam away and all the creases just fall out, so no need for hours of standing over an ironing board, it is also good for freshening up those dry clean only clothes. With this product you can clean everywhere and everything in your house and never have to buy a detergent again, as it kills all bacteria with the steam. I shall definatley be purchasing one of these in the near future, in the mean time keep pestering my mum to borrow it haha.... My mother purchased hers from QVC shopping channel, but they are also available in alot of electrical stores......
