This is important, as extensive set-up time would be a deterrent to regular use. Once operational, running time is about 60 - 90 mins depending on how trigger happy you are with the steam. Take all the advantages of the Polti 2400(if you haven't read the opinions on the 2400 please do so), and then add the suction power of a quality vacuum and you have the Polti 900. For technical details visit - www.polti-ltd.co.uk. I will focus on usability. I was on the verge of buying the 2400, when I found out about this product. As carpet cleaning was high on my requirements list, I was attracted to the 900 by its ability to suck the dirt out of the carpet in water, rather than the 2400's method of collecting dirt on a cloth.
