Found this to be a complete waste of money- bought this is Comet as I have a white cat that loves to curl up on my clothes and also a stainless steel cooker. Plugged it in after filling it in water in the hope that all my cleaning products could be placed in the bin! - NOT A CHANCE! An impressive spray of steam comes out of the end after 5 minutes of heating and does what?! well it steamed up the windows in the kitchen- didnt touch the stainless steel cooker (Try baby oil after cleaning with Mr Muscle- it works, no smearing and much cheaper!) Didnt touch the clothes or get rid of any creases or hair Infact the only useful application I could find for this expensive steaming gun was blowing dust off plants. My advice- don't waste your money- Mine went straight back the very next day for a refund.
Thanks to SallyP's review, I decided to get one of these little numbers - and managed to track it down at £47 at Argos. I wanted it to tackle some spot stains on our dining room carpet (grandchildren are wonderful!) - and although carpets are not mentioned in its info, I thought it would do the job. Since then - yesterday - I have cleaned: - the carpet spots (brilliantly) - the cooker hood (so ingrained with greasy muck I was scared to tackle it before) - the sink - the tiles - the walls - the hob - the cupboard doors My wife thinks I have turned into some kind of sad house-proud person - but this is just an amazing gadget and I love it! It's especially good on greasy deposits - like the ones aound the hob. If you're considering buying a Vaporettino, and you're in any doubt, get one - it's brilliant.
I must admit to being a bit of a Polti fan. I have been blissfully steam cleaning for the past 2 years with a Polti Vaporetto 2400 and would put my vap on my desert island list. However, for the times when a little light cleaning is required this little gem comes into its own. The Vaporettino is the latest creation from Polti. A Steam pistol that packs a huge punch. Obviously it is not as powerful as the larger machines but it holds up well against them. And I have been using it daily since it arrived courtesy of QVC. Something that I could never do with my main Vap as realistically it is a bit large to fire up just to get the cat hairs of my jacket in the morning. The reservoir holds half a pint of water, which gives around 15 mins of constant steam. It is also quick to heat up – less than 2 minutes, which is great in the mornings for freshening clothes. I also use it for cleaning work-surfaces, around the loo, and doing the sinks etc. With a 4 metre cable, you can really move around with it and get into the hard to reach places without trailing extension cables behind you. And it only weighs 900 grammes. The best thing about it is its ergonomic style, and it’s built in hook. My Vaporettino is unashamedly on display in the kitchen at all times. No hiding in the cupboard here thank you. 2 minutes, a whoosh of steam and I’m off again! It is supplied with a clothes/fabric accessory, 2 coloured brushes (so you remember which one you used for cleaning the loo) and a cleaning cloth to wipe off all the grime that you blew away. I also obtained the extra accessory pack that includes 3 extra brushes, a curved nozzle (behind the taps and inside the overflows and great on car engines) and an extra garment freshener head. Plus of course another cloth. All in all this is a super machine. Lightweight, compact, but oh so powerful. It is also covered by a 12 month warranty. And I can confirm that the Polti customer ser
vice is second to none. Anytime that a repair is needed, Polti arrange collection, take the machine back to the service centre which is in Wiltshire and return it by courier normally within 7 days. Howzat for service? Good on yer Polti!
