Advantages: Good Suction, Cheap

Disadvantages: Annoying Power Button

Why Do I Need One?
=============

Hand held vacuum cleaners, Dust busters, are invaluable devices, there are many times when a quick clean up would be very useful and getting the vacuum cleaner out would be a chore or simply impractical, like when you get a few crumbs on the carpet.

If you are doing something down the garage or in the loft or anywhere that getting power to a vacuum would be difficult then they are worth their weight in gold. People with pets will find them very useful for getting up all that hair.

Who's this Proline then?
===============

For the uninitiated Proline are Comets own brand, just like Duraband or Pacific are Asdas own brand. Own brand products are usually significantly cheaper than other makes and often are made by an established manufacturer.

What's Good About It?
==============

Ok, they're pretty simple appliances, but there are still some important things to consider, first and foremost, how good is the suction. I can tell you that you will not be disappointed. It has a very powerful suck.

The battery life is also worth mentioning as it has a very good one. From a full charge, which takes you 14 hours to charge from empty, you can get approximately twenty minutes of continuous use. Of course all batteries eventually wear out.

Another very good feature is that when not in use there is a flap that springs over the end and prevents and dirt from dropping out, this happens as soon as you release the power button.

The weight of the appliance is also very light compared to other dust busters we have owned. To clean the filter you simply have to press the button at the front to release the two parts and pull out the filter.

You also get a wall mounting and a charger.

What's Not So Good?
=============

There are some good things about this dust buster, however I do have a few niggles with it.

The most annoying of these happens to be on one of its simplest features, the power button. I know what you're thinking, how can the power button of all things be a problem. The problem is that you have to hold it down constantly to keep the power on.

Another small annoyance is that you have to use it at quite a steep angle to allow it to suck up the dirt properly.

Attachments
========

You get one attachment, a crevice cleaner that just slips on the end and allows you to get into small spaces, it has a brushed end and is very useful.

Where to Buy and Price
===============

At the time of writing it is available online from Comet.co.uk for £7.99, plus a £5.99 delivery charge if ordering off their web site. A three year warranty is £19.99 Bargain!

Conclusion
=======

On the whole I am very pleased with the Proline RVC6. It is good at what it is designed to do. It had a few short comings as detailed above, but for the price these really are not very significant. I would even say it is better than our Black & Decker dust buster. It has certainly come in very handy a number of times in my house.

I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for reading. Gayna x

twenty minutes of use after 14 hours of charging sucks :)
Can't believe you can say that this is a good feature.

I suspect the 'feature' requiring you to hold down the power button is to prolong the battery charge
