Sanyo SC-X80 Vacuum (Sanyo SC X80)
Member Name: Mickers
Advantages: A real dust-eater!!, Great price., Nice look. Disadvantages: Frequent emptying., Bulky., Poor crevice tool.
Having had a major bypass road routed very closely to our house, we found that although noise levels were not so bad, the amount of dust in our house rose dramatically. So when our old faithful vacuum cleaner finally died, we looked at the bagless cleaners on offer. Bags were costing a fortune, and keeping the dust down was a real battle. After much searching and questioning, we finally came across the Sanyo SC-X80 on promotion in Curry's. At £99.99, it was a very reasonable price compared to other brands (July 2002). It also came in two colours, a kind of pale red, or lilac blue and I have to say, because the colour also extended to the hose, flex and just about everything else, it looked nice as well. So, a chat with the salesman and we were sold. Having got it home, the vital first testrun commenced. I must also add at this point, we have three border collies, and dog hairs are also in abundance!! A sweep of the livingroom, and I have to say we were very impressed. The dust that came out of that carpet was amazing. Now normally, we would vacuum and the next day, a thick layer of dust would cake everything the very next day. It actually took three days to return to that level, and if that isn't proof of the amazing dust eating capabilities of this cleaner, I don't know what is. The filers happily lock out of position and although we used to wash them each time in water, we have since found that our nylon haired brush from the dustpan set will clean the filters just as well. A small tool is also provided to get into the little nooks of the inner filter. The actual compartment where the debris collects is clear tinted plastic and very satisfying it is to see everything swirling around as it gets sucked up. My only grievange, and it is only slight, is that the chamber must be cleared at about 1/3 full otherwise it will not pickup very well, however, having said that, ours is an unusually harsh environment. I would recommend this to anyone although older f Summary: |
