Advantages: Quality, reliability
Disadvantages: Replacement bags had to find in shops but just buy online
I really wanted a Dyson but I'm so glad I got a Sebo! This machine might not be the prettiest; its boring, boxy and white, but I can not fault it.
For 10 years it has vacuumed without any problems at all. The only thing I do is buy a pack of 10 bags, which comes with replacement filters and change them with each pack.
The instructions are quite specific, there are two lights which alternate when you first switch it on, these display whether the machine is moving the brushes up or down. Once it has finished this it is ready to clean. I've always kept it still for this which seems to give it the best chance to get the opitimum level for the surface.
The pack of bags are quite expensive, around £15 or just less for 10 bags and a full set of filters (2) and are not to be found in most vacuum shops but I just buy online now and have them delivered.
My Dad bought one at the same time and his is still going too. Other machines with a higher wattage do less of a job on the carpet altho they may be better with the suction tube. If I had to have a fault it would be that I can't manage the whole stairs with the hose, I know others have said they do so maybe I'm missing something. Only half the stairs are manageable before moving the socket and machine to the other end
I would have been thro 5 Dyson's I bet during the time I've had this one and there is no compromise on quality, I've tried Dyson's in other people's houses and they have been no where near as good as this machine
Summary: Not to be compared with a Dyson, the Sebo is better by far

- 16/05/09 Welcome to Dooyoo!
A good start here. Some more info for buyers could give your review broader appeal such as:
Actual UK price it cost you.
Noise levels
Bag capacity - how long does one bag last?
Actual wattage
Weight
Filtration - what type?
Long power cord?
Use with smaller cleaning tools?
Adding info could inform buyers better although it is optional. If you update your review or need help please msg me.

PS Having owned an X1 Automatic for 14 years I know just how good Sebo generally are. You can actually buy bags from Euronics, Comet and John Lewis stores as well as Argos. An extendable 6 metre hose is also available as a cost option. Check EBAY! |

- 15/05/09 I had a dyson a couple of years ago and it didn't last at all I was hugely disappointed and since have just had a few inexpensive vacuum cleaners as I was wary of speding much after being so disappointed with the dyson so this has been really helpful, thanks x |
