Advantages: Compact and bagless
Disadvantages: Doesn't have much of a suction
his was my first vacuum cleaner purchase when I bought my house 4 years ago. I was looking for something cheap and bagless and when I saw this in Tesco, I though "That'll do."
It looks quite stylish with its grey body and wheels and a burgundy container where the dirt collects. It is light to carry with its handle on the top and easy to pull along. The wheels did start to squeek within a weeks use and as the machine is quite quiet when in use, I found this to be annoying. The wheel is also the home to one of the filters. You simply click it off and clean the filter which is a good touch. Another filter is found inside the machine and can easily be cleaned when emptying the compartment. These are both easy to clean and dry quickly so maintenance isn't a problem with this vacuum.
It is very compact and can be stored away with ease. On the top of the machine, it has a large button that can be pressed with hand or foot which winds in the cord. It does this with great speed so be careful.
According to its description,it has 1400W of power. In my opinion, I would be better off trying to suck up the dust from the floor wth a straw as I found myself having to go over and over the same spot to get even an adequate clean on my carpets. There is a handy feature on it where you can move the suction from min to max...personally, I never noticed the difference and always had it on max.
Everyone knows what a pull-a-long vacuum cleaner is like ~ basically you wander off with the hose and brush attachment whilst the motor of the cleaner follows you about like a lost puppy. The hose on this is long enough for the machine not to keep hitting you. The brush attachement easily pulls off in order for you to use the main nozzle to clean the edges. You can also remove the longer nozzles so that you have a small hand-held option to really get into the corners. Also on the handle, is an a sliding button that means you can alter the suction. (Again, what suction?!)
I have written this review now as I have just found this vacuum in my loft. I may keep it purely for cleaning upstais carpets where not much dirt is found as it will be adequate for that and will save me carrying my better Hoover up and down. in conclusion, save your money towards something else like my other vacuum (see previous reviews)
