VAX Appliances VS-190 Swift ... last vacuum was a lightweight, cordless affair whose looks betrayed the strength of its suction. At only £40 it was a great buy and made a massive difference to the cleanliness of our carpets. However three years down the line, the suction had decreased to the point where it left clumps of cat hair in its trail. It was time for a new model. We needed something with a good suction that could pick up cat hairs and not be too big as we don t have the greatest amount of storage in our flat. Numatic Hetty Vacuum Cleaner ... bought Hetty because my younger sister really is into pink otherwise it could easily have been Henry. It looks great for those who are a child at heart. It is lightweight in comparison to many hoovers that we have had to buy over the years. It is easy to carry up the stairs and there is no repair or hassle when the automatic wire winder breaks down because it has a simple and easy to use manual winder (the old fashioned way). It has a lower noise level than many hoovers and picks up dirt easily both in its normal and high power levels. The only setback is that the brush can be easily pulled backwards but is near to impossible trying to do the forward motion. So if you... Dyson DC14 Animal ... two cats it still surprises me how much mess they can make ! I got this hoover not expecting a lot, but it had rave reviews from my friends and family so I thought I would give it a go. After piecing it together I gave it a test run and wow ! It almost sucked the carpet up ! Compared to my previous vacuum this was incredible. I happily walked up and down my rooms getting the satisfaction of seeing all the hair and dust getting sucked up, leaving a nice clean floor. It felt a little heavy to begin with, but I got use to the weight and it moved with ease. The telescopic wand and the attachments are always fun to try out and they fit snuggly onto the hoover.
