My morphy richards upright finally got laid to rest in the scrap heap in the sky ( thank god!) So i had to get a new cleaner asap, with three children in the house i knew i couldnt be without one for too long! No cash avaliable i had to reach for me old faithful... the kays catalogue! Browseing as you do, through the various cleaners. I was very hesitant to buy an upright cleaner again , after my last experience, so opted for the VAX 6151.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE BOX?
The 6151 model is a 6 in 1 machine, which has a vast array of tools (oo er missus!). As i unpacked the cleaner i thought id have to send it back as i couldnt find half the tools! But alas, they were there inside the cylinder unit!
The cylinder itself is black and attached to that is an extensisible tubes , so you dont have to be crouch over like the hunch back of Notre Dame to use it!!
The attachable vacum head has a slide setting on the unit, depending on whether you are vacuming a deep pile or flat carpet, An extra long hose is attached for those days you want to clean the stairs!! Thank god someone has thought about that, i have spent many a year dragging the whole unit up the stairs with me! Included are the tools for vacuming ...you have a crevice tools for those hard to reach crannys, a brush attachment, and an upholstery attachment.
On the cleaning side of things you have the carpet washer head, an upholstery attachment for curtains, sofas, etc, all the tubeing to connect the machine up,a hard floor washer.
The cylinder itself contains the dirty water bucket, clean water bucket, cone filter unit, and i even found 3 vacum bags to get me going!!
Like a kid with a new toy, all excited, very impatiently plugged the machine in! In the instrucions it tells you to be prepared to pick up a lot from your first vacum with the cleaner. Pushed the start button , i could hear a whurring noise, thought it was going to explode on me ! The n realised it was the brushes in the vacum head whizzing around! Then suction was amazing, you could hear soo much being picked up. And after i had finished i stood back to have a look at my work, my carpets actually looked like they had been vacummed for the first time! I actually went around the whole house, and hubbie came home halfway throu, and we had a fight over who was going to finish, lol!
The wet test was just as impressive. Initaially the water was flowing throu the tubeing into the cleaner head, but didnt seem to be cleaning! I found if i let the water flow into the head, then start to clean, slowly then more vigorously, it is very effective!
Absolutly fabulous darlings as Joanna Lumley would say! The suction is beyond belief, and usually you find after a few weeks it starts to lose its suck, but not this one! So useful for accidental spills too. I cannot knock this machine at all.
The only disadvantage is that i need more vacum bags! The machine picks up absolutly everything!
I paid £199.99 from Kays, but im sure you can pick it up from an electrical retailer a bit cheaper.( As you know catalogue firms add a bit of money on top, for the privilege of using their service!!)
