After a few months of deliberating whether to hire a carpet cleaner from a hire company or to buy one, I finally decided to buy one. We have inherited carpet from the previous owner of our house and at this moment in time cannot afford to replace them all. So I choose to buy a vax carpet washer.
I arrive home with my new little toy, time to for the ' easy to assemble' part. How many times have you heard that one! Well to be honest this wasn't at all difficult. The vax comes in 3 parts. Stand the main base up and push the mid-section on to the base making sure you align the tabs on the base. (This sounds more complicated than it is.) You then insert the 3 provided nuts into the mid-sections and tighten with a philips screwdriver. Again easy peesy, now I'm really chuffed with myself. There is nothing worse than not being able to finish before my other half gets home from work, then him having to do it and making himself feel really clever, while you feel like a helpless little female.
Right ready to go, just how easy is this ? Now just release the clean water tank, measure 3 and half capfuls ofVax AAA cleaning solution top up with warm water and we should be away.
Plug in switch on, and whoosh off we go, push the carpet washer forward whilst holding the trigger on the handle this releases warm soapy water, then pull the machine backward to suck it up.
Both the cats have bolted. This machine a quite noisy, the dirty water tank is now full, this is indicated by the value shutting off and the machines noise changing. So I unclip the tank at the front of the machine and pour down the sink. Well my o my the water is filthy.
I did three rooms in a hour. What a good job done. The carpets look great.
Hints for using this vax carpet washer.
Vaccum your carpet throughly.
Remove as much furniture as possible.
Only use the recommended AAA vaxcarpet cleaning solution.
Try not to walk on carpet until throughly dry.

I agree with all of this.

I would say if you want a cleaner that you can use as often as you like this is perfect. If you have a few stubborn stains you might have to give them a rub, for for cleaning and freshening large carpets this does an excellent job.
