Advantages: Great quality for a fantastic price
Disadvantages: Heavy and can be a little awkward
I bought the Vax Swift Zero vacuum cleaner after seeing how good the more basic model was that my mother in law had recently bought.
The pick up is great even pet hairs. It come with on board tools including a turbo brush, crevice tool, upholstery brush and steel extension tube/pipe. It is very similar to a dyson in many way except by price. I paid £25 off ebay for a graded / new model. It arrived quickly and can recommend gradedelectricalsdirect to anyone.
The vacuum has great suction and is easy to empty. As well as the large clear debris bin there is an inner cup which catches all the fine dust and it is suprising to see how much it collects. The pedal to drop the handle is very easy to operate and works well unlike on my previous vacuum.
The only down side for me is that I find it heavy and awkward to use on the staircase but find passing this job on to the husband solves this problem!
The handle of the vac is the extension tube and is good to use as you still hold the handle as the hose connect to the top unlike the DC01 I had. Make sure that the vac is stood up fully and is on a level surface as it can fall backwards. The brush bit on the upholstery tool is removable to use without if needed. The wider head takes a bit of getting used to but I have found that I like it.
There is a headlight on this model which is handy for finding lost sewing needles before they disappear for ever.
It is not the quietest of machines but I do not find this a problem as this is more than compensated for by its performance.
It has an adjustable height selector so can be used on hard floors and all types of carpets. Just beware using it on rugs due to its great suction power.
It is tight to get between the dining chair legs due to the wide head but this is not a problem to me as that floor is tiled so gets swept and moped more than vacuumed.
Finally, I am pleased that it does not mark the skirting boards either when you get close to the edge.
Summary: Top of the range quality for a budget beating price

- 10/08/08 Good overview here but what about more info on its use. You could update your review with more thoughts on:
Use of the hose and tools - does the vacuum fall over?
Does it have a large dust bin capacity?
Is there a headlight?
Is it noisy?
Is it easy to clean the filters?
Does it get trapped between furniture/edge brushing sides?
Is it lightweight enough to use on carpets?
Ive used the seller you mention and do agree, they are very good. However I've used a Vax model similar to this and couldn't stand the noise or the fact that the 14" head kept getting stuck between dinner chair legs. If you update your review pls message me.
