      Overall good product

Just after Christmas I knew that my trusty little bubble vax hoover was ready for retirement. It blew out more rubbish than it collected which was not doing my house any favours at all. I got the argos catalogue out and started trawling through the many different variations they had. There was upright with bags, bagless uprights, bagless cylinders, bagged cylinders. All different shapes and sizes that did a number of different things. Well I knew I wanted a bagless upright so that whittled the number down slightly. I also needed a hoover that was suitable for wooden floors and carpet as I have a mixture of both in my house.

I came across the page with the different Vax hoovers on and thought 'well its a brand i've heard of, which i've heard is quite good and its not too expensive'. So I put the code in on the argos website and was pleased to find it was also in the January sales. The Mach 5 retails at £176.19 in Argos and I got mine for £116 which was a nice drop. You can also buy them on Amazon for £103.98.

I picked the Mach up the next day and bought it home. I took it out the box and found that I had to put it together. Let the fun begin. I luckily do have a screwdriver so got straight to work. It was pretty easy to put together although i think most people would of preferred a ready made hoover, me included. Once it was together and working i put it too the test. I was amazed by the amount of suction, I thought I was in danger of losing everything up it as it was so powerful.

There was a couple of things I liked about my hoover, the first was the fact that the handle was adjustable which also made it easy to store and the second was the cord rewind. Its much easier pressing a button and watching the cable disappear rather than having to wrap it a round two pieces of plastic. The hoover also came with a card which if filled out and returned to the manufacturers you could increase your warrantee to 6 years. Now thats a long time so they're clearly confident that the Mach will be long lasting.

      More about the Mach 5

It has a HEPA Filter - which is great for allergy sufferers.
It has lifetime washable filters that never need replacing.
It has a quick release bin which is a hygienic dust disposal.
      A brushbar on off control.
Long reach stair hose which is 8.5m
Wide track cleaning head and edge to edge cleaning.
Turbo Tool which is an air driven rotating head, ideal for picking up pet hair and other dirt from stairs, upholstery and car interiors.
Theres also a crevice tool, dusting brush and tube extensions for added reach when using the attachments.

And a dust capacity of 2.6L.

The only problems I have which are minor is that I do find that the hoover fills up way to quickly and that it is quite heavy so carry it upstairs can be a chore. So anyone who struggles carrying and lifting should probably consider a different hoover.

Other than that I am pleased with my purchase, I just have to make sure that theres nothing around that may disappear up the hoover when I switch it on as it really has good suction power. So I would recommend it, especially to pet owners.
