Handy little hoover!

Advantages: Easy to use, good quality, picks up well, quiet
After my Smartprice hoover packed up, I figured it was time to buy a new one since my niece is now crawling! I decided to go for a decent brand this time, as after 2 years, my hoover packed up when it wasn't even used all that much!
I went for a cylinder type hoover as I live in a fairly compact flat and also have a staircase from the door to contend with, so it was definitely a cylinder job rather than an upright. My husband purchased this hoover from an independent electrical shop on sale for £35. This model is no longer available in places like Argos, although vacuum cleaners of the same make, design and power are available for between £49.99 and £69.99.
On taking it out of the box, I was immediately impressed. It is extremely compact and very light to carry around, meaning its much easier to do your stairs and to carry around whilst doing so. Also, the attachment is made of metal, which I was very happy with, as on my old cleaner of the same style, it was plastic and cracked after not very long of owning it, resulting in a load of sellotape wrapped around the pole! So seeing it was metal, I was reassured it would last for a decent time!
I plugged it in, all ready to go. The wire is a good length, and I didn't need to keep moving to a nearer plug socket. I immediately noticed that it was picking up bits off the carpet really well. (Although I was hoping that it wasn't just because there were so many bits after not having chance to go shopping for a new cleaner for about 2 weeks!!). Also, when I emptied the cylinder after a few weeks of use, it had really been picking up a good deal of dust, which reassured me that it was doing its suctioning job very well!
While cleaning, it was easy to manoeuvre around and didn't need much strength to have it following around after me. What I liked, was that the attachment was quite long, which meant that there wasn't much leaning over involved and no achey back at the end of the cleaning! The hose is 1.5 metres long which made for a much easier job. It doesn't make a lot of noise, meaning that I can get on with some cleaning while my husband sleeps off a busy night shift, and all I have to do is shut the door and he doesn't hear the hoover at all! Also it makes me feel better about using it in an upstairs flat, considering that having 2 jobs mean I either have to do my cleaning first thing in the morning or fairly late in the evening! It is just as useful on either carpet or hard flooring, both of which I have in my flat - it cleans my kitchen floor as good as it cleans my living room carpet.
After finishing your cleaning, it's easy to empty as you just clip it off and empty it over a bin and clip it back on again! You can store it really well, as it's compact size and shape means it doesn't take up much space, especially if you take the attachment off and put it in the corner of the cupboard.
The only thing I can't vouch for, is how well it picks up pet hair, as I don't have a pet.
Summary: An excellent product
