“ Manufacturer: Vax „
We had a Dyson DC07 Cylinder vacuum cleaner for around 10 year. It was great. It eventually broke after great performance over the years. New Dysons seemed expensive so we thought that 10 years on, surely other cleaners would have raised their game and would be comparable in performance. I bought this on offer for around £50 from Tesco thinking it would at least do a decent job.
From day one this has been a very weak and disappointing machine. £50 is not a give away price, so I would have expected it to be able to handle the job. We don't have dogs, etc, just a normal family home so don't need anything industrial!
There is very very little suction or power. It won't hoover up consistantly, and often seems to make little impact. We take it apart and clean the cylinder and the filter as it says to do, but you have to do this at least once per use if you want it to do anything at all. Really poor design.
I would not recommend this to anyone. Avoid.
We have a 1 Bedroom flat with a Cocker Spaniel, not the hardest place to clean and the previous Vacuum which was a Vax was brilliant. so seeing the next generation Vax in Tesco cheaply I bought it without question.
After getting this home, assembly was easy, operation was easy, powered it up and the suction was immense. All looked good out of the box, good supply of accessories and I even had to turn the power down to stop it sucking up the carpet. After 1 week it blocked and to unblock this vacuum, you have to take the top off the container, remove the filter, unscrew the centre assembly (which is a feat in itself), open the centre assembly, remove the blockage reassemble the many parts you now have. 2 days following this it blocked again this time no clear blockage, just dust on the filters. Now every time i used this vacuum I need 30 minute prior to cleaning to strip it down and clean it or it picks nothing up and flashes blocked.
The attachment itself is great for carpets, but appears to push dirt around like a sweeping brush on hardwood floors.
This is by far the worse vacuum I have ever used.
This could have been a very good vacuum cleaner but for the fact it has many, many filters and at least one ( but you never know which ) seems to need cleaning after every other use causing the red warning light to show and loss of suction. So don't buy unless you want to spend your time covered in fluff and dust trying to clean out half a dozen filters before you can use it again. Buy something else.
