The VAX V-031 Librett is a small hand held but powerful vacuum cleaner that is excellent for giving your car a clean but is also very useful to have around the house. My larger vacuum has a long lead and is very cumbersome, especially to get up the stars with bits always falling off, but this hand held model is worth its weight in gold as you can use it quickly and easily to give those pesky corners and dusty areas. I am quite obsessive about cleaning sometimes and hate it if I see a dusty corner or rug somewhere. This is therefore a great device for me.
You charge the device up (just remember to do this when you need to use it later) and then it lasts for a good period of time. It's just like charging up an electric razor and very easy to do. The vacuum is remarkably easy to use and only has one button to press. Most impressive of all though is that is very powerful, more than you would expect something this size to be. I would go as far to say that it is as powerful as my much larger traditional vacuum cleaner.
The front is see through so you can see how much dust and rubbish has accumulated. To empty the VAX V-031 Librett all you need to do is a flip and a switch and the dust catcher comes loose for you to empty into the bin. The vax comes with an extension part to reach those difficult to reach places and a brush. It is very flexible and easy to use though and great for whizing along skirting boards and dusty corners. This is probably going to be used by people most often for cleaning the car and it is very good indeed for this but you should remember that it will also be very useful indeed for indoors too. At only £25 you can't really complain about this versatile and very handy product.
I hate vacuuming, it is one of the most tedious household chores there is. I have a good vacuum cleaner that does the job but there are so many different attachments and parts that I find it really daunting so I use my hand held Vax for doing jobs like the stairs and under the cupboards.
I originally bought my Vax for using on the car but found that I use it far more often than I originally thought I would and now wouldn't be without it.
It is a small handheld vacuum cleaner that you charge before use so that you are able to take it outside to the car without worrying about wires and plugs.
I only paid £25 for it which I think is a great price for something so handy and I make such good use of.
Using it is incredibly easy as all you need to do is make sure it is charged and then there is only one button to turn it on and there is no need to faff about with any attachments or complicated settings. Of course the one downside of this is that you need to make sure that it is charged before you can use it but luckily it only takes a few hours to fully charge and then it will last a surprisingly long time.
I will admit I am not the best at remembering to charge it at regular intervals but so far I have yet to be caught out when I go to use it. This is because there are some led indicators that let you know how much power is remaining and once it goes red you know it is on its last legs so as soon as I see this I make sure I put it on to charge.
The suction is also surprisingly strong for such a little hoover and it picks up everything in my car and I am a bit of a slob so it must be good to be able to cope with all my bits and bobs lying about.
The front of the vax is made with clear plastic so you can see just how much dust and crumbs it is picking up and this also makes it easy to know when it needs emptied. To empty it all you need to do it press the button that releases the dust catcher part from the rest of the vax and empty it in the bin.
Using it is comfortable and the handle feels nice to hold and is comfortable even when trying to contort myself into awkward positions to reach certain places.
It does come with some attachments such as a brush and an extension part to help it reach into tight spots but I honestly have never really needed to use these as the vax is usually thin enough to reach into most spaces and for those that aren't then the powerful suction is usually strong enough to suck up everything in its vicinity.
My mum has a much more expensive handheld vacuum cleaner that I have used a few times and whilst it is also good it cost about 3 times what mine did and I really don't think it performs any better than it.
I have had my vax for a while now and as I said I couldn't be happier with it as it just makes cleaning so much easier for me and for 25 pounds it has lasted well without any loss of suction and performed well even when faced with my piles of dirt.
Having small children around the house means you are going to need to clean up a lot. Dinner times means that food is dropped on the floor and rather than get out a full sized vacuum cleaner and struggle to get in amongst the chair legs I thought a hand-held vacuum cleaner seemed like a better option. My Vax Libretto came from Lidl for £20 and I would have to say it has been brilliant from day one.
The main part of the vacuum is white plastic whilst the detachable front section is clear blue - this allows you to see how much dust you have collected. You have two buttons on the top: one that slides forwards and back to turn the power on and off and another that you press down to release the front part. It sounds obvious but you will no doubt go for the wrong one a couple of times until you get the knack of it. Four green LED's indicate how much power is remaining, whilst you also have a red button to tell you that you really ought to charge it anytime now.
The box comes with a few handy extras. Of course you have the charging unit that the vacuum will slot into. It took a bit of practice to position it correctly but that's probably me being a bit dim! A full charge takes up to 6 hours, although you can of course unplug it earlier, and each charge will last you a looooong time. I use mine regularly and only tend to plug it in once a month or so.
As well as this you also have a couple of attachments that you can slot into the end - these include a brush and an extended section to allow you to reach into tight spots. The extended section is great for use in the car as you can reach down beside the seats and around the handbrake without any difficulty.
It does feel heavier than other hand held vacuums I have used but our three year enjoys using it so I'm sure you can manage just fine.
I cannot fault it for effectiveness. Unlike other hand held vacuums I have used it does not blast air back into your face and is not all that noisy either. It will pick up most crumbs/dirt/anything our three year old has dropped on the floor. What it isn't is a substitute for a full sized vacuum when you want to do a proper clean of the house. Our Dyson will take up some ground in dirt and hairs from the carpets whereas this won't. But to be honest that is never the intented use of this device. If you stick to picking up the odd bits off the floor and cleaning up your car then you can't go wrong.
