This film is wonderfully directed. Antwone fisher's life was awful, but the way it has been made into a movie is tremendous. Antwone suffered many forms of abuse. Yet he survived and proved that anyone can turn a bad thing around and become a strong character with a will to move on and live a normal life. I caught this movie at a special preview on Welsh cinema day (don't ask me why they showed this film?) about 2 months ago. It seems to have taken an eternity to be released over here. This is Denzel Washington's directorial debut, and is a strong first effort. The story centres around a young naval recruit who has serious anger management problems. Encouraged by his psychologist (Washington), he goes on a journey to find the root of his problems and delve into his traumatic childhood.
