The DVD doesn't blow you away, for instance limited extra features; directors commentary, trailer and various filmographies but who cares when the film can knock you over. Jack Nicholson won an oscar for his role as Melvin Udall as did Helen Hunt for her role as Carol Connelly. The love/hate relationship that develops between these superb actors undoubtedly makes the film so good. Plot themes include Melvin's obsessive compulsive disorder, Carol dealing with her son's illness and Simon Bishop (Greg Kinnear) bringing up homosexuality. Each role is acted beautifully but the two stars of the show have to be Jack Nicholson and the dog. Nicholson is insulting, ...

With literally thousands of films produced every year, it is hard to sort out the classics from the mediocrity. Fortunately the title gives the quality away of this film. They don't get much better than this, from the Oscar winning performances to the fantastic story line. You will laugh out loud and cry like a baby.
