If you have seen the film Nikita, then you have seen the far superior version of this movie. 'The Assassin' is a poor Hollywood remake of the gritty French thriller, failing miserably to capture the style of the original and offering little for your viewing pleasure. This is quite an old film. I have got it on video. When I first saw this movie I did not know who Antonio Banderas was, but now after watching that film I had to see if he was in any others. I have always liked Sylvester Stallone. I liked a lot of his films. When he was teamed up against Atonio in this film I thought that it was explosive. I have always liked this film. I always wanted to watch it again and the other day I did and I just wanted to say even though this is quite an old film, it is still brilliant. I would buy this film if I didn't already have it. If you like a good action film then this is a good film to watch. I would recommend this ...

If anyone has seen the french film Nikita you will know that is a classic movie that really requires viewing. Hollywood get their grubby little hands on the movie and re-make it into some real tripe. Briget Fonda plays the assasin and is quite frankly, unconvincing. Gabriel Burne also stars in this rehash of a good movie. There are no real action sequences of any decent calibur. The movie would have to be called character driven, but when I really couldn't care about the characters whats the point? ...
