I have to say I have seen my share of movies that cross the line, my share of sleaze, and sleazettes, directors and actors trying to profit of anyone (dead or alive) and then having the excuse to say "Uh yeah we wanted to make a movie", then they say, "uh yeah it's a biography", "uh it's a celebration of that person's life". Sleazy directors and actors will come will a hundred cheap excuses to make a movie at the expense of someone else and trying to defend themselves but ultimately like the pieces of trash they are, so then "Auto Focus" is probably at the top of the "Trash list" of directors ...

Why is that the majority of the best films all get ignored over larger budget snoozers. I'm sure if people were actually given the opportunity to see a film with a good story and great performances more often then they'd take it. Auto Focus is another one of those films that got a limited US release and a small release in the UK. Thankfully DVD means that you can get the cinematic experience at home and this is where I sampled Paul Schraders latest film. In the 60's Hogans Heroes was a huge american TV show set in a POW camp.
