C.H.U.D. (DVD)

C.H.U.D. is an inexplicably well regarded movie in the horror genre. It is considered to be one of the classics ofthe 80s but for the life of me I can not see why. It seems to have all the elements which make a horror movie not worth watching and none of those which at least give it some sort of exploitation value, if nothing else to keep it interesting. C.H.U.D. is quite frankly boring. It shouldn't be though, because the general premise is good playing on the fears and paranoia of people over those who rule them. An urban legend turned in to a film. Under the new york streets the subways are teaming with the homeless and downouts but they are no longer alone. After several recent disappearences it is disscoverd that the sewer system is teaming with flesh craving creatures who have been dragging down anything or one they can get their claws on. An investigation is launched but hits a brickwall suspecting a cover up a photographer delves deeper and discovers the source of the chuds (cannabalistic humonoid underground dwellers) the goverment is obviously involved and will stop at nothing to concele their dirty little (well not so little secret).
