Carry On Don't Lose Your Head is a film in the series which is based around the 1789 French Revolution. It was made in 1967 and was released in colour. When it was first released, due to a problem with the production company, it was released just as Don't Lose Your Head. It stars the familar cast from the series such as Jim Dale, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims and Petter Butterworth. Sid James playing Sir Rodney Effing and Kenneth Williams as Citizen Camembert were in my view the best two actors in the film. All of the usual cast can be found in this 1967 Carry On romp which is loosely based upon the story of the Scarlet Pimpernel although in true Carry On style the mysterious character who travels to France to save the French aristocracy from madame guillotine is known as The Black Fingernail after the two finger salute he leaves when he rescues an aristo, one of the fingers has a black fingernail. Sid James takes on the lead role with Jim Dale as his trusty side kick, the only mainstream character who was missing from this film is Barbara Windsor.
