The Eagle Has Landed (DVD)

Real boy's own stuff from the same World War Two stable that John Sturges had already plundered for his late sixties hit 'Where Eagles Dare'. This is from a Jack Higgins novel rather than Alistair Maclean, but the recipe is exactly the same - undercover heroics, decent action, and Nazis. This is odd, in that most of the central characters are in fact Nazis (Michael Caine's 'hero' for example), involved in a plot to take over a small English village as part of an entirely improbable plot to assassinate Churchill.
