I am a great fan of the John Carpenter classic, Escape from New York. This film introduced us to the antihero, Snake Plissken, played by Kurt Russell. In the original film, he is forced to go into the top security prison, New York and rescue the President of the United States (Donald Pleasance). This film, made 15 years on is pretty much more of the same tried and tested formula. Featuring the same great Snake Pliskin, this film is the follow up to the great 80's film Escape From New York. Set in 1998, the plot hasn't changed much since the old one but when the old one was so excellent who really cares? This could be considered almost a remake, but it does carry on from the first so it is strictly a seequel.
