Sequels notwithstanding, out of Frank Henenlotter's CV, Frankenhooker is probably his least known work, never quite earning the cult status that Brain Damage or Basket Case attained, and many fans believing it to be rather tame in comparison to the other two. While it is, to be perfectly honest there aren't many movies where that statement doesn't apply, and Frankenhooker isn't exactly a straight-forward horror movie or a kid-friendly venture by any means. The movie is, as not only the title, but character names like Jeffrey Franken and Elizabeth Shelley would indicate, a spoof on the story of Frankenstein, or to be more specific Bride of Frankenstein, with ...
