The Mrs and I recently got hold of a box set of Marilyn Monroe films which we're presently working our way through. Although many might consider these to be "chick flick" type films, note that Marilyn is not a hard actress for the average man to sit and watch for an hour or two. So the Mrs and I have slightly different interests in the films but at least we agree that we both want to watch them. The first one in the set we watched was 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES When I was around seventeen, I saw my first Marilyn Monroe film. Until then, I had heard of her, but knew little of her. I imagined her to be pretty but vacuous, keen but not talented. Then I watched this film and my heart was won over. Not only was Marilyn beautiful, she was a good actress, singer and dancer. She was unique. A month or so ago, after saving money from Ciao and Dooyoo, I bought myself Marilyn Monroe – The Diamond Collection, a set of eleven DVDs.
