A review of the Something Weird DVD, available for a fiver on amazon. This is a badly made, entirely disreputable American exploitation movie from 1972. It was directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis, a low-budget film-maker who graduated from skin flicks to extremely gory horror films. Blood Feast (1963) was his first horror, and is usually credited as being the first gore movie. His films are invariably cheap, badly made, appallingly acted, and full of absolutely revolting violence.
