Newest Review: ... brought before the king to explain how he defeated the 3 most feared assasins in the kingdom, Broken Sword(Tony Leung), ... more

... Flying Snow(Maggie Cheung) and Sky (Donnie Yen), all of which were thought to be after the king himself. The film is generally Jet Li telling the king the story of how he defeated the 3 assasins, but not all is as it seems and the king has his own suspicions about why the nameless warrior is sat before him. As the nameless warrior tells his story you see it visually and it is just stunning, the cinematography from Christopher Doyle is mind blowing and the use of colour leaves you wandering why more of this isn't done ...more

Starring martial arts legend Jet Li in a visually stunning martial arts and cinematography epic set at the height of China’s Warring States period, the country was divided into seven kingdoms. I also love foreign films and one of my favourites is Hero starring Jet Li. This film came out a few years ago and made quite a storm at the box office and was also nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe as Best Foreign Language Film. It was acclaimed by critics and won numerous international film awards. Hero is a visually stunning martial arts epic which sees Jet Li take up the role of a fearless warrior. He plays a soldier who rises up to defy an empire and unite a nation which has been ripped apart by ...
