... It also got me a bit sad when the dog got killed:( I wont spoil the movie by revealing all the plot but basically it's a story about a family who break down in the desert where they lie prey for a bunch of cannibals. It's a good story but i knew what would happen next. This movie is much better than any modern horror film. However, due to the low budget they do make some mistakes like the light on the caravan. It's a good movie and well-worth the £5.99 i paid for it. I enjoyed this film and will be watching...more

With this and the Nightmare on Elm Street series, Director Wes Craven set himself up as one of American horror's most talented exports. The story starts out pleasant enough. The Carters are a typical middle-class family of suburbanites preparing for their annual holiday across to California. Their are the two parents, their oldest daughter and her husband and baby, their two other children and their two dogs. They set out in their mobile home across the desert and all is fine until ...

Worrying film this one. If you have ever travelled around the middle of nowhere alone, you can appreciate how this film was conceived. Set the scene, large camper (all Americans seem to have at least one each) a breakdown in the middle of a dessert road, noone around and there are deranged psychopaths watching you and picking you off one by one. But, the American family is a resourceful one when cornered in a camper by psychos and fight their way out! Dad doesn't make it though and ends up nailed to a tree and set alight which is a bit grim. It is a very wierd film. I don't know his name but there is one actor whose features are a little ...
