I Robot (DVD) ... Smith, Bridget Moynahan ... / DVD released 03 December, 2004 at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment / Features of the DVD: Anamorphic, PAL / As paranoid cop Del Spooner, Will Smith displays both his trademark quips and some impressive pectoral muscles in I, Robot. Only Spooner suspects that the robots that provide the near future with menial labor are going to turn on mankind--he's just not sure how. When a leading roboticist dies suspiciously, Spooner pursues a trail that may prove his suspicions. Don't expect much of a connection to Isaac Asimov's classic science fiction stories; I, Robot, the action movie, isn't prepared for any ruminations on the significance of artificial intelligence. This likable, efficient movie won't break any new ground, but it does have an idea or two to accompany its jolts and thrills, which puts it ahead of most recent action flicks. Also featuring Bridget Moynahan, Bruce Greenwood, and James Cromwell. --Bret Fetzer

Detective Spooner uncovers the possibility that a robot called Sonny may be the primary suspect as he was found on the scene, this is a shocking revelation as the robots are programmed not to harm humans and have 3 laws that they abide to, which prevents them from killing. Spooner has the responsibility to prove how Sonny could be the killer and goes on an investigation in which the Robot Intel...more

Producers: Will Smith, Laurence Mark, Wyck Godfrey,Topher Dow and John Davis Director: Alex Provas Starring: Will Smith, Bruce Greenwood, Bridget Moynahan, Chi McBride, Alan Tudyk, James Cromwell and Shia LaBeouf Released in 2004 this film was as impressive as you would expect from Will Smith. Set in the year 2035 in Chicago with humanoid robots walking the streets as servants to humans. We are quickly introduced to detective Del Spooner, (played by Will Smith) and soon realise that he has a total distrust for the robots, (later in the movie we find out the reason for the mistrust). Premium Review Robots are created to help humans (193 words)

Rating:

Set in the future. I think the year is 2035 and setting is Chicago I Robot is about a policeman Del Spooner (Will Smith) looking to find killer of a scientist. His main suspect is a robot. Naturally the policeman hates robots because he is technophobic. None of the others in the police department think the robots can commit a crime. Spooners Sherlock Holmes type investigation uncovers a mystery which lead to the death of the doctor. Smith is best acting when they let him open his mouth. He is aloud to fast talk and fast joke which all good. The action involving humans and robots is fantastic. The story is simple. No complex ...

Crowned Review I Robot (DVD): Law I A robot may not harm a human (866 words)

I’ve been a fan of Will Smith since the early days of the Fresh Prince. Even though I’ve seen it millions of times I still find myself laughing at parts of it. As a musician he created good pop pieces of music that really suited the summer. His music is upbeat and although not really my kind of thing, still quite enjoyable. It was when they announced Will was going to be a movie star I began to grow doubtful. With the exception of “Wild Wild West”, just like everything else he’s tried Will has succeeded. I missed seeing I, Robot at the cinema so I finally caught up and saw after borrowing the DVD. It’s 2035 and just about everyone has a personal Robot in their ...
