Landon is a teenager here, fighting with the usual burst of hormones and a slightly embarrassing tendancy to turn into a werewolf at inopportune moments - worse than acne any day. There's a weird Freudian undercurrent in this film which the makers seem almost unaware of, as in the scene where watching a girl doing gymnastics brings out the 'animal' in Landon, if you see what I mean.
