Not being a big comedy fan, when I was given this video I wasn’t too bothered about watching it. Yet this movie came from the creators of, ‘Dumb And Dumber’, and ‘There’s Something About Mary’, so I thought that it was worth a look. The film is based around one main character, Roy Munsen (Woody Harrelson), who from an early age demonstrates a major talent for bowling and becomes the 1979 Amateur State Champion. So the professional tour looms on the horizon, and with the help of bitter rival Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray) he tries to hustle a few extra bucks. Being a big fan of the Farrelly brothers and their gross out comedies such as 'Dumb and Dumber' and 'There's Something About Mary',this was an early aquisition to my fledgling DVD collection. I would point out early on though that this review is of the Region One disc,labelled as 'Directors' cut'.The region two disc available here has few of the extra features of my beauty,so if you've got a multi region machine try and pick this up from DVDboxoffice.com where it'll cost you about £13.50 all in.The R2 disc has a yellow cover with only Vanessa Angel on whereas this has the whole motley trio on the box.
