Set during the second world war this is a nice little drama with some touching moments and is an enjoyable film to watch with some good solid performances. The film focuses on a group of female volunteers in The Womens Land Army who helped support the agricultural industry during the war when all the men wer off fighting. Introduction Much as I like to keep informed of what’s going on in the World Cup, I find it hard to watch a game the whole way through. So when I realised that The Land Girls was on Channel 4 at the same time as the match, I ended up watching that and just flicking every now and again to check on the score.
