Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (DVD) ... ... / DVD released 02 February, 2004 at Paramount Home Entertainment / Features of the DVD: Anamorphic, Dubbed, PAL, Widescreen / Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life may be an improvement on its 2001 predecessor, but its appeal is mostly aimed at fans of the video games that inspired both movies. That pretty much leaves you with some fun but familiar action sequences, and the ever-alluring sight of Angelina Jolie (reprising her title role) as she swims, swings, kicks, shoots, flies, jet-skis, motorcycles, and free-falls her way toward saving the world, this time by making sure that a grimacing villain (Ciaran Hinds) doesn't open Pandora's Box (yes, the actual mythological object) and unleash a deadly plague that will "weed out" the global population. Exotic locations add to Jolie's own coolly erotic appeal, but we're left wondering if this franchise has anywhere else to go. --Jeff Shannon

... up to expectation. Packed with stunts, shootings, throwing of fists with a little twist of tale, this film will delight the action and adventure fans (as well as Lara Croft game addicts and Angelina Jolie fans). However, I dislike the racist issue in the film which shows Africa in a bad light. Why should they continue to show black people (half-naked), living around mountains while Shanghai is filled with lights and skyscrapers (no offense). It's distasteful!! It's a good film, though....more

The majority of this review was originally written in August 2003 when the film opened in cinemas. Directed by - Jan DeBont Starring - Angelina Jolie, Gerard Butler, Ciarán Hinds, Chris Barrie, Noah Taylor, Djimon Hounsou, Til Schweiger, Simon Yam Length - 114 minutes Cert - 12A The first film created a lot of interest, manly just to see how the video game heroine Lara Croft had been; converted shall we say, to the big screen. It wasn't a 'must-see' film (not too bad though) but it did turn out to be a major hit (over $250 million sticky notes worldwide). And of course, if it makes money then the studio will repeat the formula, ...

Having been a fan of the Tomb raider computer games since their release, I was excited about seeing Lara Croft's character being transformed into a real life character on the big screen! Having thoroughly enjoyed Angelina Jolie's first big screen outing as Lara croft, I was eager to see if the sequel could live up to it! The critics gave it a very poor review but this didn't deter me from purchasing the DVD on the day of its release, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Plot Lara Croft ( Angelina Jolie) returns in her second feature outing, and this time is on a round the world mission to recover Pandora's Box before it is found by a ...

Lets get one thing straight: Angelina Jolie is awesomely good as Lara Croft. Forget about the fact that, physically, she’s perfect for the part (from the upper-class pout to the buxom physique, she IS the game come to life) and look at the way she plays the role. Yes, she’s a toned-up action goddess with huge breasts, but it’s the balls she brings to the role that deserve attention. Her Croft is gorgeous and funny, but those qualities just float on the surface. Rippling underneath are powerful currents of adreno-addiction and a love of violence that borders on the sickly orgasmic. It’s heady, powerful stuff, and Jolie – don’t forget that this woman has an ...
