... friendship nas sacrifice will transport you to a world beyond imagination. My Opinion. I actually went to the cinema and saw this before i read the book and didn't know quite what to expect from such a movie. But from start to finish, i was shocked at how excellent the film actually was. The cast are brilliant, the acting was spot on and i loved how they portrayed the characters. J R R Tolkien's epic The Lord of the Rings is one of the most famous series of books ever written. In 2001, New Zealand Director Peter Jackson took the helm to direct the film of the first of the triolgy: The Fellowship of the Ring. It was a monumental project, with fantastic results. Hobbit Frodo Baggins and his three friends, Samwise, Merry and Pippin, embark on the quest to destroy the Ring, aided by a troop of skilled fighters and ...

I certainly didn’t want to see one of my favourite books ruined on the big screen, so I made a solemn vow not to go and see the film when it was ...

Despite being rather dubious of the attention lavished upon Peter Jackson’s epic production of Tolkien’s greatest novels, I must confess to experiencing eager anticipation of this movie. I am a big fan of fantasy films, purely because the writers and creators can truly let their imaginations run riot. Despite having never properly read The Fellowship of the Ring (I abandoned ship after about fifty pages) I was assured that this was one of the finest fantasy stories ever written and that the movie would be three hours of sheer, unadulterated enjoyment. Ever the controversial one, I’m afraid that it falls to me to dispel that myth, and to explain why I found this movie so ...
