A wand massager that gives more than a tickle

By the way just before writing this I read a review in the Discussion area about having an Erotic section, that particular writer didn't see the point of having categories and products such as these as the writer would be too shy to say what it actually felt like and how it was used. Well get ready...and don't read if you don't want all the details!

Many ladies may have heard of the Magic Wand, especially if they read the likes of Cosmopolitan and other "enlightened" lady magazine. I do believe it also featured on This Morning or Daybreak at one point. It may well feature in those new porn novels that are so popular, I haven't read any so I can't comment but it really wouldn't surprise me! And I'm sure the chaps have heard the name mentioned along the way as way.

Most of the articles and things you will have seen are actually the Hitachi Magic Wand which has now received almost legendary status, the only problem is that they are only sold in the US and Canada, they aren't licenced for here. So most of the ones you get here are generic brands.

So what is a Wand Massager? Well, it's exactly what it says, it's a long hand-held machine, it has a large soft foam/rubber head on the top (as seen in the picture) and this one has 10 speeds to it. They were indeed intended as massagers, the 'head' vibrates and it can be used to rub over tired and stiff muscles, which it does an excellent job of, it's been wonderful for my pulled muscle in my back. And then some bright spark, or maybe someone who was a bit bored had the idea of exploring where exactly you could use the massager, they obviously searched quite well, teamed it up with the vibrations, and well, the legend was born. As was the joy of women all over the world. So basically it's now used as a vibrator for pleasure rather than its original intention.

Now me and my partner do have quite a selection of toys, but the one thing we didn't have was one of these Magic Wands (although the Hitachi is the original Magic Wand, you will now hear all Wand Massagers referred to as 'Magic' even if the word is not in the product title, and I shall probably keep using that phrase as well!) So we had been ummming and aaahing about one for a while, I had tried one once before but found it so strong as soon as it touched me I shot out of the chair! But that didn't deter us and we started browsing for another with as many adjustable speeds as possible in the hope it would start off a lot milder.

Eventually we bought this particular one from a seller on Ebay, it was a reasonable price at £26.00 and certainly cheaper than the Hitachi! Eventually it came and even I was quite surprised at the size of the box! It's quite a plain box as well, it just has a picture of the massager and the phrase 'Wand Massager', certainly no rude pictures and not something someone is likely to take notice off if they just come across it. We ordered the purple one and blimey is it purple! A lovely deep glossy purple, it is big, about as long as my forearm and it has an hourglass shape with a perfect hold in the middle. It's not overly heavy so you will be able to hold it for a while, its quite sturdy as well so no risk of breaking it if it accidentally gets chucked on the bedroom floor!
The end is quite big as well, I certainly can't cover it all in my hand, it's made of nice soft material and its all completely smooth and rounded so there's no bits to get caught anywhere.

This particular model does have a cord, you can get cordless, which has its good and bad points, bad is of course that you need to have a socket nearby and in our case an extension lead, the good (great!) point is that the batteries will never run out, which is extremely annoying when you are just about to hit that...well you know what I mean!

It might seem daft but we put a condom over the top of ours, my partner is a little concerned that lube and any other liquids may start to cause damage to the foam head. So its all rubberier up, plugged in and ready to go! I am a little nervous to say the least, and boy does it buzz! Just a little tip for someone who hasn't tried it before or someone who has and found it too strong, not that it should be a problem with this particular one. Get a flannel, dry obviously, and fold it in half and put it on your downstairs, use the wand through that. The next time you do it do it through the flannel opened up, from then on you may well be able to use it without the flannel or continue using it till you get used to the sensation.

What the wand does is slightly different from other vibrators, other vibrators usually have a much slimmer end which you have to put it on the area you feel the most pleasure in and quite often move it around. How the wand differs is that it covers the entire area, the clitoris and all those sensitive muscles all around it, which is why some lube should always be used with it especially to begin with. I don't recommend you stick it straight on your clitoris with no lubrication, it really isn't going to be the pleasant of sensations, the only sensation I got when it happened to me was headbutting the wall when I fell out the flipping chair!
The vibrating goes throughout your entire downstairs area and is quite different to anything I have felt before, it'll even get your bones vibrating! If you keep it right at the bottom, it does actually feel like you have something up your bum, so you get the pleasure of anal play without anything actually being up there! I do find it slightly uncomfortable if the wand is kept in one place so it's best to keep it moving.

By this point you may well not need any more lube but do keep it to hand and ready to keep on using it. But the biggest question is, does it do the job and does it do it well? Oh indeedy it does! You will be more than familiar with the ceiling once it's worked its magic. And as mentioned it has 10 speeds, well speeds may be a bit misleading, it has the 3 speeds that go faster, the rest are different pulses, and in on case it stops, pulses a few times then shoots to fast speed, its almost a torture device. I do recommend lots of testing to find which option you like best. It's not just for the ladies either, the chaps can use it, or have it used on them, how I'll leave to your imagination, but be careful you don't catch a testicle as my partner found out! You can also get attachments for the wand, different heads, g-spot vibrators, etc and they can cost from a few pounds each up to £20 for one as the male designed one did.

As you may guess I am going to recommend this especially as the price is so good and it can do the job of several vibrators. As I've already said follow my recommendations and you shouldn't have the initial problems I did. Just go ahead and enjoy!

Oh, and if you are offended by this review maybe you should have stopped reading well before now!

P.S Dooyoo, I think its vastly unfair that items in this category are not paid for, it is a product review the same as hoovers, Yankee Candles and washing up liquid!
