Ok but buy the Premium or Elite instead (Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade)

Advantages: One free game and large memory card, wireless controller

Disadvantages: not great games, no hard drive, hidden costs

Got free with my mobile phone contract about 18 months ago now and was really chuffed when it arrived. comes with One wireless controller, 256MB memory card and Arcade games disc.

Played on the arcade games and they;re OK but will only keep you amused so long, most games are just demos which you can choose to pay for and download full version i believe but i won't be bothering, you can play a silly fish game where you eat other fish and get bigger, pacman, some stupid fireworks game and all seems a bit of a waste of time marketing this as a completely separate console edition. I know i got it free, But I probably would just choose the elite or premium if i was paying.

Memory card is good for space, 256MB has lasted me up until now, but as I menitoned in another review i don't use the xbox all that much, I will be looking for a hard drive now. Only problem with Xbox is the hidden costs you have to accomodate for as well for playing online - it is very wise you get a hard drive to play online, the memory card just wont cut the mustard, £40 direct from Xbox for live subscrition plus headset (not compulsory), plus harddrive, so after all that cost is it cheaper to get a PS3 and play for free online, ponder it over and see what you think.

But i suppose there isn't the having to buy an HD telly to get the best out of this console.

Summary: I would recommend the Xbox 360 just not the arcade version, just buy the elite or premium instead
