Firstly, the xbox 360 itself is a great console to have. There are loads of amazing games available for it, xbox live is a great way to keep gaming fresh and they very often have some sort of deal if you are worried about the price of an annual membership.

The xbox 360 arcade version is the most basic and without any accessories would only be recommended for 'casual' gamers (less than an hour a day on average) Personally I found that with the addition of a second hand hard drive this then became just as good as any of the other editions of the xbox 360.

I use sky go all the time at home and the noise of the machine is never distracting, yes it does make sound but you just get used to it as you watch. It is a bit annoying having to buy a hard drive because the original memory storage is so slow but then again this model is substantially cheaper than the others.

Although that being said I have owned 2 of these as the first one broke outside of warranty, there is a common error caused by overheating in the xbox arcade but again casual gamers are unlikely to overheat the console
