Advantages: Full HDMI, Upscaling DVD, Great library of games, Online play, Backwards compatability
Disadvantages: £50 for wireless adapter and £40 a year for online play make it expensive (Wii and PS3 are free)
What a console. Microsoft you really have made something special this time. In beautiful black this little machine will upscale dvds, has full hdmi and has a whopping 120gb hard drive with it.
A fan of the Xbox already this one was a must have for all the latest next gen games.
Positive: A huge, rapidly growing range of games available for the system as well as constant updates to improve compatibility with old xbox games (unlike with Sony). Great online play for the system and again a growing range of Xbox classic games and arcade games to download for the system. A new update for the menu system is very slick and really does show the machines true abilities. Best viewed on a HD tv this console is for the true hardcore gamer and has the games available for it that really do show its true ability.
Negative: £50 (rrp) for a wireless adapter for online presence (or use your laptop with wireless internet to act as an adapter, (works with my Macbook)), £40 a year for the Gold membership for online play (£28 from instantlivecodes.com - not tested)
Summary: The wireless controllers feel nice to hold and use, the console is stunning to look at and doesn't let you down on the games. Though the '3 red rings of death' are always mentioned, i've been lucky and never experienced any problems so far. Best viewed in HD this is a powerhouse of a console and with such a great selection of games available, you wont be disappointed.
