Advantages: Great games, great features..
Disadvantages: Not always the most stable...
I've had my xbox360 for a couple of months now, and it is most definitely my favourite so far of consoles.
It has a fair few faults and anyone looking to buy an xbox360 DEFINITELY should invest in insurance for it as it can be very temperamental and easily breakable. I haven't even had mine long and it was brand new when I bought it but surely enough within a couple of weeks the laser in mine was broken, and I had to go get it repaired. Thankfully I DID have it insured and got a brand new one the moment I went into Game, free of charge.
One of my favourite things about the xbox360 is the Achievement unlocks, it's what would make me buy a game on xbox rather than any other console as there's the gratification of completing a game, but then there's the extra gratification of some of the extra Achievement unlocks that can be incredibly silly. For instance in Assassins Creed, one of the Achievements you can unlock is for jumping through market stands 20 times for a low 5 gamerpoints.
Some of the more silly achievements means that you can take a break from the oh so seriousness of some games if you're getting bored and having a laugh about jumping through a market stand!
Although not necessary, having xbox live certainly does make it more interesting as the online multiplayer for games again means you don't just have to stick to one storyline and does make games basically never ending to play.
The chatting features on it are great too, with messages and live chatting, and the ability of signing into msn, and soon to be able to get on facebook too, it means sitting on a game for hours is no longer antisocial ;)
The graphics and sound on it are absolutely amazing too.
Considering there are never ending games coming out for it, not all incredibly expensive, having an xbox should never get boring or stale.
Definitely one of my favourite purchases, and definitely would suggest it to anyone looking for a good games console.
Summary: My favourite games console to date.
