Microsoft Xbox 360
Advantages: Great Games, Community, Price
The reason why I bought an Xbox 360 compared to the PS3 is mostly because of the price differences being a lot cheaper and as well as all my friends owning only a 360. This review is only to show the pros and cons of the system through my experience of owning the console.
The console as whole is definitely worth the money paid. I bought the 20GB console for around £170 which includes Halo and Mass effect over two years ago and had no problems. The vast amounts of games are all at a reasonable price for what it's worth.
The Xbox Live community is one of the best out of the three next gen consoles. You may need to pay for this service but it truly is worth around £30 a year. There are plenty of multiplayer games released which can be played with friends or people around the world including COD or Halo.
The 360 has a variety of games released for all types of players either casual or hardcore players in every genre of gaming. As well, there are many great exclusive titles for the 360 such as Halo, Forza, Gears of War or Mass Effect and the new Kinect controller which allows a new way of playing.
The graphics are one of the best for the next gen systems which runs in a HDMI format. The original purchase has a component AV cable however any type of HDMI cable would work. Compared to the PS3 there isn't much of a difference.
RROD (Red Ring of Death)
Known issue across all Xbox systems. The Xbox I bought two years ago is my first and only Xbox I ever had and have never got this problem. Mainly because of overheating problems, try not to play for 20 hours straight and keep it in an open area.
The noise of the system is one of the main problems for me as the thing is as loud as a vacuum with both the fan and the CD drive being loud. This problem can be solved by installing games onto the system but it's still rather loud for a fan.
Costs for Xbox live but it's worth it. The internet connection can be through Ethernet cable however I bought a wireless adapter which costs around £30-60 but the newer model has built in wireless. Cost of warranty is around £50 a year which I did not buy because I can take care of my console.
Overall the system is highly addictive with the amount of games and the online community. some hardware problems only if not taken care off.
Summary: Best console out of the three, would be playing for a long time
