I know, this console is old, and may not seem like a smart purchase, but they are so cheap it would be stupid not to at least try it. I recently bought one of these from Amazon as a way of reliving my earlier days playing Xbox, and as I still had a number of games left over with no console to play them on, I felt it was a necessary purchase. I was ready to accept that the graphics would be terrible, the controller would be awkward and the games would have a complete lack of detail, but I was terribly wrong. As soon as I started playing, a wave of nostalgia came over me, giving me a nice happy feeling, (which is more than I've ever had with these new generic ... Read the complete review

When I first received my X Box shortly after its release in 2001 I was unbelievably happy, this being my first ever real console. Using it over the years, I would remain just as pleased with it. For one thing, the exclusive games for the X Box are top rate, more so than those for the PS2 in my opinion, and that's the real main reason for which to buy a console. Halo, Fable, Knights of the Old Republic, Splinter Cell (for a time, although the game did eventually become multi-platform), these are all classics. Elsewhere, the on-screen design and layout are equally impressive, although there isn't admittedly as much to do as on the 360, while the graphics for the ... Read the complete review

Microsoft's Xbox was launched back in 2001, and became a major competitor to Sony's Playstation 2 in the market. Because of large release price for both PS2 and XBOX, for a long while people were often forced to choose between playtation or xbox, and hence the rivalry began. So was it better than PS2 or any other console on the market back then? I think both consoles have both their distinct advantages and disadvantages. Advantages - Beginning with the console features, there were 4 controller ports built into the front of the console itself, so unlike some other consoles, there was no need to buy a multi-adaptor. Also, the memory cards that were ... Read the complete review

Around 2 years ago Argos had a clearance offer available on the x-box console. They gave away 4 free games with the x-box for just £50; obviously due to the introduction of the x-box 360. So, the original microsoft x-box is now an old gen console, is it now rendered useless? Well, personally I would say no. For £50 this was a bargain at the time, despite the new gen of consoles storming through Britain's game stores. There is no doubting that the 360 is a major upgrade on this (rather large) gaming box. Everything from graphics to gameplay and the online format has massively improved. At the time of purchase I hadn't bought a new console since my PS1, so ... Read the complete review

Microsoft Xbox Original Console (Xbox) I got a Xbox around two weeks ago, when my old one broke. I got it for £18.99 in CEX in Lisburn. When I bought it I got two more games to my Xbox Original collection, I got Tony Hawks Underground two for £2.50 and I got Halo for £1.00! So the games are cheap for the console. I also bought another controller for £3.00. In the Box... I only got a Cardboard box with the console but in it there was Composite, RCA cables, Ethernet cable, Xbox Original console, Xbox Original Controller and Manuals. The Console... The Xbox console has four controller ports on the front, A disc tray, Power on/off ... Read the complete review
