Advantages: Good games, not completely left behind
Disadvantages: Graphics not like the new gen, the console is massive
Around 2 years ago Argos had a clearance offer available on the x-box console. They gave away 4 free games with the x-box for just £50; obviously due to the introduction of the x-box 360. So, the original microsoft x-box is now an old gen console, is it now rendered useless? Well, personally I would say no.
For £50 this was a bargain at the time, despite the new gen of consoles storming through Britain's game stores. There is no doubting that the 360 is a major upgrade on this (rather large) gaming box. Everything from graphics to gameplay and the online format has massively improved. At the time of purchase I hadn't bought a new console since my PS1, so needless to say the graphics seemed great to me! I had however, played friends consoles and was fully aware that the x-box was a great console.
I found the x-box was great entertainment (despite taking up half of my bedroom!) as the graphics were still decent, and I could still purchase great games compatible with the console. I was delighted that you could still go to major game retailers online and pick from a selection of great games, all of which were now cheap! I found myself with about 30 games very quickly, including fantastic entertainment such as FIFA street, fable and the lastest pro evoultion soccer.
The fan is a little noisy but nothing that is noticable after 10 minutes of intense gameplay. I have now purchased a wii for interactive gaming reasons, however I still use my x-box on occasion. I don't notice the graphics too much either because the wii graphics aren't fantastic to compare too!
Summary: This was a great investment
