Advantages: Compact, Easy to connect with friends

Disadvantages: Addictive! You can't play old gameboy games, just gameboy advance.

I really love my DS lite, I've had it for ages and it's great for entertaining yourself on long journeys or random periods of boredom! If you have a variety of games then you're pretty much sorted, you can get by with 2-3 or a lot more if you think you will enjoy them.
I haven't played on it in a while, you tend to go through a phase of playing a lot and then you don't play it for ages, but it is very useful to have.
It's a great improvement from the DS and it's predecessors.
For one think it's easy to connect to other DS Lites with no add-ons or accessories required. It's also sleek and compact. I have it in black, and I've decorated it with stickers and stick ons to make it look nicer.
With the new DS coming out soon I expect the prices are getting very reasonable, and more often than not you can find a deal where you get 1 or more free games with your purchase.

Summary: If you want one, go for it. There's no catch!
