Advantages: Great fun
Disadvantages: Costs quite a lot plus the price of games
Now, let me say first of all that I am not a proud owner of DS lite, but I have vast experience with them from my son and my nephews and neice who are proud owners.
The DS Lite is a slightly lighter and thinner and more stylish version of the DS. I should probably take a moment to say what a 'DS' is! It's a hand held games console that is dual screened (that's where the DS comes from) and one of those screens is touch controlled. It is made by Nintendo.
There are any number of games available for the DS Lite, including all the Mario series games. They generally cost anything from £10 to £30, but you can normally pick up new releases somewhere online for £24.99 plus free postage.
The games are controlled on the touch screen by using a stylus, which neatly slides into the main body of the DS. There are buttons on it too, including a directional arrow pad.
The DS Lite also has wi-fi capabilities so certain games can download up loads, and you can contect to the internet and play games with people anywhere in the world. You can also play games with people near you (4 or 5 metres away) with a local connection for free. This means that if you have two DS's you can play the same game against your friends each using your own system.
The average price for a DS Lite at the moment is around £100 and it is available in black, white, pink and blue.
These really are great fun, and not just for kids, there are plenty of games adults can enjoy too!
Summary: Great portable games system

- 15/04/09 Great title, but I'd like to know more on why you regard the DS worthy of five stars. There's the detail here, but not the opinion. |
