I.LOVE.MY.DS!
I bought the DS Lite when it very first came out and it's SUCH an improvement on the first model. The first most noticable improvement is the way it looks. It's a much more mature look, it's lighter, thinner, and much easier to hold. And now it's available in so many different colours, I feel a bit inadequate with my black one!

The second improvement from the older model is that the bottom slot (used for gameboy colour games) has a plastic piece which comes with it, and is there to prevent dust and general everyday debris from getting into the game slot when it's not being used - therefore preventing damage.

The next difference is the adjustable brightness on the screens. Previously it had one brightness setting which was fine for playing indoors and I usually have my DS on the lowest setting as it's bester for your eyes but if it's the middle of summer and you or the kids want to play outside, the extra brightness settings make this a much easier challenge.

The charger for the DS lite is also much smaller although this doesn't really make a whole world of difference, people just like things to be smaller and slightly more compact so I felt that it was worth a mention!

It really is a great console and the backwards compatibility gives you all the more choice. I'm quite excited to give the new DSi a go now! Oh and as far as I'm concerned Nintendo win every time when it comes to value for money!
