Advantages: Unique, High Tec gameplay. Totally Unique. Lots of fun.

Disadvantages: Web Browser & Music Player cost extra. PSP does more things.

Nintendo have been making Hand Held games consoles now for close to 2 decades. They are really good at it & always try to be at the forefront of technology. With this in mind they improved on the DS - with the DS Lite.

The DS Lite is a Dual Screen console (this is where DS comes from) It has a top screen & an intereactive bottom screen that features touch screen technology which allows you to write on it as well as other things. The orginal allowed you to do this but the Lite is slimmer & lighter than the Original.

The DS also has a slot in the bottom that allows you to play old Game Boy advance games on your console. This also allows for some connectivity between old games & new ones (The Pokemon series being a good example)

You can play loads of different types of games on your console & there are games for all the family. Young & old, male & female. You can even buy utility cartridges such as an internet browser & also a musci player.

In my opinion the games on the Nintendo DS are the most fun games on any handheld that there are. I have reviewed a few of the ones that I own & would recommend this console. However. The Sony PSP is a better machine capable of doing many more things than the DS is, and doing it with that many add on items. You might want to consider one of those. Or you could be like me & buy both!

Summary: The most fun you can have on a handheld if not the best one.

I never knew DS stood for Dual Screen... I guess you learn something every day!

The DS is great but a bit too childish. I think the PSP is much more mature and sophisticated - if only Sony owned the rights to Mario!
