DS Lite is a restyle of the DS handheld made by Nintendo.

The Nintendo DS lite looks considerably better than the original model. It is very noticeably smaller and sleeker the lower part of the console is a lot slimmer than the original model. The outside finish is now glossy white plastic which looks far more elegant. The inside of the console has been made from a matte finish. The Gameboy Advance slot now has a neat little cover which makes a single colour when closed, very nice. This redesign is really a major upgrade the DS lite is far more attractive than the original console.

The DS lite handheld is packaged with the handheld unit, the protective cover for the Gameboy advance port, an extra stylus, the charger, instructions and a code for Nintendo Stars.

The DS lite has been upgraded with far brighter screens which allow you to see your games better in daylight as well as being slightly sharper, though the unit is smaller the screens are the same size as the original DS.
The stylus is now bigger than the original DS and is more comfortable to hold, it is also made from a slip resistant material which is better than the original DS stylus as that would slip quite easily.

The DS Lite is compatible with all exisiting DS software and Gameboy Advance games though when you do play a Gameboy Advance game the game cartridge will stick out from the DS lite a little bit so that is why you have the cover for the Gameboy slot.

The DS line up is very good and has many Nintendo franchises from The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass which is another adventure with Link, Pokemon Pearl where you train Pokemon, Mario 64 DS a remake of the classic Mario for the Nintendo 64 and Mario Kart DS an excellent Kart racing game.

The DS lite is a great redesign but it is no longer the latest model as they have released the DSi which I don't have yet to compare it with.

Summary: A great upgrade to the original DS.
