Advantages: For everybody, huge library of games, design, build quality.

Disadvantages: Maybe not so many "mature" games

After owning this console since release (imported from Australia for £75 due to exchange rates!! :D:D ) it is still in brilliant working condition, despite being dropped down the stairs and from my hands multiple times. The touch screen is still as responsive as ever, and the battery still lasts for a very lengthy time, I would say about 16 hours on the second light setting. This is testament to Nintendo's build quality on what may be the greatest handheld of all time.

Upgraded from Nintendo DS, the Lite version made the system aesthetically pleasing, and much nicer to hold in your palms. The stylus was also made fatter so it was easier to grip in play situation, and the screens were widened slightly and made brighter. All fantastic improvements, even battery life lasted longer.

It is not hard to see why this is on course to be the biggest selling games console ever. The library of games is brilliant, with all of NIntendo's mascots making an appearance, with plenty of new franchises starting thanks to the innovative touch screens. As a 17 year old lad, I currently play Metroid Prime, Zelda, Trauma Centre, Advance Wars, Grand Theft Auto, Scribblenauts, New Super Mario Bros and The World Ends with You. These are some of the best games I have ever played.
However, my grandma plays 42 all time classics, nintendogs etc. while my younger brother plays Pokemon, Fifa and Madden.

There truly is a plethora of games for every body to play, and on such a value for money console, the DS Lite still continues to sell healthily, and many new games are still being primed for it, 6 years after the original DS launched.

Summary: The best handheld ever.
