The Nintendo DS lite the second iteration of the Dual Screen handheld console. Some say the DSi is better or that the DSi XL is the best. But i disagree with both for me the DS lite outshines all of the Nintendo DS models.

The upgrades that were made on this DS over the original model is the

Blacklist screen with four different brightness settings
Lighter so its easier to carry
Sleeker
Larger stylus for increased comfort

Also the DS has a great libary of games for the young kids and casual gamer. But if you are like me the more mature hardcore gamer there are some gems to be found on the DS such as Megaman ZX Advent, Sonic Rush, Lunar Knights, Advance Wars and The World Ends With You.

But you do have to some searching in stores to find games such as those

The DS has built in WiFi so with the use of a router,WiFi hotspot or being in a cloud hotspot. Multiplayer is available for the Nintendo DS also but only a few games have a well implemented matchmaking system and even fewer games with a dedicated constant playerbase

Also this model of the DS also has a GBA (Game boy advanced) slot. Which is used to play Game boy advance games which further increases the libary of games.

The console is well constructed with a sleek exterior and interior to match. The buttons and D pad are solid and well suited to the interior of the console. The shoulder buttons however can stick and become unusable. But this is after extremely prolonged use
