Advantages: Good options in addition to simply game playing

Disadvantages: Different charger to DS - bit of a rip off

We bought the new DSi for our son after his old DS broke in half! We didn't see the point in replacing one with another when there was a newer version available! The new DSI is still compact and slim, although I have to say I thought it was a rip off that the charger is different to the original DSi. This meant that when my son lost the charger one week after buying the DSi, I had to spend a further £20 buying an entire pack of chargers to find one which fitted. In terms of appearance its not massively different to the DS Lite, slim and compact and reasonably light. It currently comes in white or black and is otherwise pretty similar to the previous model. The sreens don't appear to be larger and the layout of the buttons etc looks largely unchanged.

However as advertised the additional features offer hours of fun, like the sound and photograph options. This is a great opportunity to let children and adults have fun with photographs, experimenting with changing frames and adding effects. The sound options have less variety than the photograph options, but never the less still fun and exciting for children and adults alike!

A good little console from Nintendo - however for all of those who use "chipped" R4 cards with games loaded on - beware the DSi will let these work for a couple of days and then wipe all the data on the card.
