Advantages: Bright screen, flips down to protect screen, full backwards compatibility

Disadvantages: was quickly replaced by the DS

The Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP was a huge improvement on the original GBA. one of the best features about the SP was its overall shape, no longer did you have to crane you're neck to get a good view of the screen, instead you could angle the screen to exactly how you want it.

But by far the best feature of this Game Boy was than if you could not get the angle just right to allow the device to be played in bright light, there was a build in back light! Fantastic, and the single reason why you should trade in your 32-bit wonder of a GBA and put the proceeds to upgrading to this.

Another great feature about the SP is the fact that the screen flips you, this protects your precious bright screen!

Fantastic piece of kit and still plays all of your favourite GBA and Game Boy games so dont be scared it would be compatible anymore.

I had this console for a good 3 years before I bought my DS and I still have it under my bed just incase I want to play on some of my older Game Boy games. Well worth the money

Summary: Well worth the money as DS does not play original Game Boy games
